Intentional Adulteration Conducting
Vulnerability Assessments (IAVA)
This course will provide participants with the knowledge to implement the requirements of conducting a vulnerability assessment under the Mitigation Strategies to Protect Food Against Intentional Adulteration regulation (referred to as the IA rule) of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The IA rule is aimed at preventing intentional adulteration from acts intended to cause wide-scale harm to public health, including acts of terrorism targeting the food supply. Developed by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA), this course is the "standardized curriculum" recognized by the FDA. Successful completion of this course is one way to meet the requirements for a "food defense qualified individual" responsible for conducting a vulnerability assessment.

Classroom and Virtual Training now available:

Foreign Supplier Verification Programs for Human and Animal Food (FSVP)
The Foreign Supplier Verification Programs for Human and Animal Food (FSVP) is a program that importers must have in place to verify that their foreign suppliers are producing food at the same level of public health protection as that of the preventive controls or produce safety regulations. This training course focuses on importance of having Foreign Supplier Verification Programs in place. It helps participants understand the different types of hazards, how to identify them, and provides an understanding of how to tailor supplier verification activities to their unique risks and characteristics.
